Al Green – How Can You Mend A Broken Heart (Cream Records)

Equally known as The Reverend Al Green, Al Green is best remembered for 70’s Soul hits such as ‘Love And Happiness’, ‘I’m Still In Love With You’ and ‘Let’s Stay Together’, his signature cut later on given a cover version by Tina Turner. Meanwhile, he would himself cover the Bee Gees‘s 1971 penned ‘How Can You Mend A Broken Heart’, and include it as a part of his ‘Let’s Stay Together’ album released the year after. His version being included on various soundtracks along with time, from ‘Good Will Hunting (1997) to ‘The Virgin Suicides’ and ‘Notting Hill’ both in 1999 and ‘The Book Of Eli’ in 2010…
