Arrested Development – People Everyday (Chrysalis)

Hailing from Atlanta, GA, Arrested Develpoment was founded by two then students – Speech and Headliner – back in 1988, appearing as a fresh and positive alternative to the dominant Gangsta Rap at the beginning of the following decade.
Taken from their 1992 released ‘3 Years, 5 Months And 2 Days In The Life Of…’ album, and even though not as successful as ‘Tennessee’, ‘People Everyday’ remains as their most identifiable cut, if not their signature one. They’re also remembered for ‘Revolution’ which they recorded soon after for the Spike Lee directed biopic based on the life of Malcolm X.
The group disbanded soon after the release of their second album – ‘Zingalamaduni’ – which didn’t manage to reach the expectations in terms of sales. They reunited in 2000 though, mainly meeting success in Japan, but Headliner refused to rejoin because of business differences with Speech
