Bootsy Collins – Stretchin’ Out (In A Rubber Band) (Warner Bros.)

Cincinatti, OH-born bassist Bootsy Collins first came to prominence along with James Brown as a member of The JB’s back in 1970. He would soon after join George Clinton under the Funkadelic/Parliament guise, becoming one of the key figures of the (P-) Funk scene.
Also remembered as a member of the Bootsy’s Rubber Band, he eventually released material under his own name, beginning with the memorable ‘Stretching Out’ which marked his debut as back in 1976.
Quite prolific, he’s also known as Bootzilla, Casper, Zillatron and Fuzzface, as for his collabs with other artists such as Talking Heads, Deee-Lite, Bill Laswell, Victor Wooten and Talib Kweli to name but a few…
