Brigitte Bardot & Serge Gainsbourg – Bonnie & Clyde (Fontana)

Certainly the most complete French artist of all time, Gainsbarre, as people also tend to remember him, has embraced almost all the facets of the contemporary music, from Jazz to Reggae, Funk and Electronic, eventually considered as the one who helped engender Trip-Hop. His music, but also his lyrics happened to be one of a kind, from absolute poetry to deliberated provocation when exploring subjects such sex (by the end of the 60’s way before aanyone else), incestuous fantasies, polemic and whatsoever.
Whatever he touched would be turned into absolute artistry and no wonder why he left such a strong legacy, influencing countless people such as Air, but also French rapper MC Solaar who would come up with an extrapolation of ‘Bonnie & Clyde’ – ‘Nouveau Western‘ – a few years after.
‘Bonnie & Clyde’, a song released back in 1968, arranged and conducted by Michel Colombier, featuring French actress, top model and sex symbol Brigitte Bardot, in the tradition of these collaborations Gainsbourg would initiate along with time with actresses such as Jane Birkin, Catherine Deneuve and Isabelle Adjani
