Chic – Everybody Dance (Atlantic)

Bass is the heart of music, use to say African people, and it would pretty much be the heart of that distinctive sound by the likes of Chic, a group and a production unit that Bernard Edwards fonded by Nile Rodgers (rhythm guitar), Tony Thompson (drums) and Norma Jean Wright (vocals).
Nard, as Rodgers used to call him, could record in one take, and was one of the greatest bassists of all time, as illustrated, among many others, on this anthem taken from their 1977 released eponymous album, with mixing work courtesy of Bob Clearmountain
