Edwin Starr – H.A.P.P.Y Radio (20th Century Fox)

Immortalized with the Norman Whitfield produced ‘War’ standing as the Vietnam War protest song per excellence, Edwin Starr made quite some noise as well in the Disco scene with both ‘Contact’ and the explosive ‘H.A.P.P.Y. Radio’ (where the hell can we find some nowadays?), respectively in 1978 and 1979. The latter with mixing work courtesy of Rick Gianatos.
Relocated to England from 1973, Starr suffered a heart attack on Apr. 02, 2003, and died, aged 61, while taking a bath at his home in Bramcote near Nottingham…
