Hoochie Coochie: Tyne To Visit!

Had the pleasure of going to a great venue over the weekend… Hoochie Coochie, that’s the name of the club where SouLutions happened to be doing their live debut last Sunday, so we were invited to go the night before. The place was buzzing, with the owner –  Warren Thomson – playing the great vibes. Every track he spun was a gem, beginning with this 1976 7 inch released  rarity titled ‘For Real’ by the likes of Flowers on LA Xpressio currently available from Discogs for £ 1,500 (Buy it now!)… Even the toilets smelt like Harrods perfume department. As for the drinks, the extensive choice of various spirits, wines & beers was a definitive plus.

My first time in Newcastle and I got really impressed. This club is our kinda music: no requests, just great vibes. No wonder why the likes of Chaka Khan, Dimitri From Paris, DJ Reverend P , Kenny Thomas request to play there…

They don’t make any money, this is all for the love of music, with all profits goin’ to charity!

If you are ever in Newcastle Upon Tyne, this is where it’s at.
