Jean Carn – Free Love (Philadelphia International Records)

Born in Atlanta, GA, Jean Carn began her recording career back in 1971 on Black Jazz Records along with her then husband Doug Carn. She would join Philadelphia Sound Records 5 years later, making her debut for the label with her self-titled album. Opening the latter with production by the likes of label heads Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff and arrangement work courtesy of the late Bobby Martin, ‘Free Love’ stands as one of her signature songs with ‘Don’t Let It Go To Your Head’ and ‘Was It All It Was’…
