Jeffrey Osborne – Soweto (A&M)

A member of L.T.D. in the 70’s, a group remembered for classics such as ‘Love Ballad’, ‘Where Did We Go Wrong’, ‘(Every Time I Turn Around) Back in Love Again’ and ‘Holding On (When Love Is Gone)’, Jeffrey Osborne embarked on a solo career at the beginning of the following decade. Himself responsible for hits such as ‘Stay With Me Tonight’, ‘Love Power’ along with Dionne Warwick and ‘You Should Be Mine (The Woo-Woo Song)’, the latter taken from his 196 released ‘Emotional’ album. An effort also remembered for including the boiling ‘Soweto’, one of the very rare songs back in the day referring to the Apartheid, as remixed by Arthur Baker on its 12 inch version…
