Jocelyn Brown – Somebody Else's Guy (Vinyl Dreams)

From the 1984 released album of the likes, her debut-single after countless contributions with artists and groups such as Van McCoy, Musique, The Salsoul Orchestra and also Inner Life on their timeless version of the Ashford & Simpson penned ‘Ain’t No Mountain High Enough’. Also remembered a bit later on for her cover version of the unmissable ‘Always There’ with UK Acid Jazzists Incognito then her boiling featurings on the Nuyorican Soul album concept (‘It’s Alright (I Feel It)’, ‘I Am The Black Gold Of The Sun’). One of the most powerful voices of the circuit, here alongside Allen George and Fred McFarlane on this mellow joint standing as the foundation in regards to the establishment of their signature as producers (ie Jenny Burton, Evelyn Champagne King…)
