Jocelyn Brown – Somebody Else’s Guy (Vinyl Dreams Records)

One of the most vibrant performers in the circuit, Jocelyn Brown remains ironically more well known as a featuring singer than as a solo artist, having collaborated with countless acts, from the Patrick Adams produced studio outfit Inner Life, to Incognito with whom she recorded a memorable cover version of Ronnie Laws‘s classic ‘Always There’ and Nuyorican Soul with whom she gave Rotary Connection‘s classic ‘I’m The Black Gold Of The Sun’ a new life in addition to ‘It’s Alright, I Feel It’.
As a result, the 1984 released ‘Somebody Else’s Guy’, produced by Allen George & Fred McFarlane, stands pretty much as her solo signature song…
