Leon Huff – Tight Money (Philadelphia International Records)

A session pianist who eventually worked with Phil Spector, Carole King, and Cameo among others, Leon Huff along with songwriting/production partner Kenny Gamble gave birth to one of the essential chapters of the contemporary music while launching the seminal Philadelphia International Records label (the home of luminaries such as MFSB, The O’Jays, Teddy Pendergrass and McFadden & Whitehead to name but a few) and eventually givin’ birth to the Philadelphia Sound…
We find him under his own banner on this jazzy jam marked with Blues influences, taken from his 1980 released ‘Here To Create Music’ album which would be his first and only for some reasons…
