Luther Vandross – It’s Over Now (Epic)

Luther Vandross first came to fame as a backing singer of David Bowie on his ‘Young Americans’ album back in 1975 but also the co-writer of ‘Fascination’, initially titled ‘Funky Music’. Although he got a record deal as a solo artist on Atlantic, he would get recognition as a singer back in 1979 along with Italo-American studio project Change, with classics such as ‘The Glow Of Love’, ‘Searching’ and ‘Lover’s Holiday’, prior signing with Epic Records.
From then, he would become the #1 R&B singer in the circuit during the 80’s.
Taken from the 1985 released ‘The Night I Fell In Love’ album, ‘It’s Over Now’ was co-produced along with his usual partners (Ray Bardini and Marcus Miller) with whom he would produce albums for artists such as Cheryl Lynn and Aretha Franklin among others…
