Tennerz: Palamino – Oh My! (Morten Trust Remix) (King Street)
Danish producer Morten Trøst (read Trust) never ceases exploring different territories. And this, with an undeniable acuracy. The co-founder of Palamino along with Morten Hampemberg, he brings all the elements to make of ‘Oh My!’ an instantly appealing dancefloor winner. And for that, he turns it into a friendly laidback Disco/Funk affair. Building it around a rhythmic guitar led rhythm pattern. With Susanne Dahn-Leach‘s stellar vocal performance adding to the rest.

Palamino, say what? To be honest, chances are great you’ll find yourselves in the same position as I, wondering who this guise represents. And what is its meaning. And how could it ever be different as a matter of fact, knowing ‘Oh My!’ marks their debut!?!
True to what this overview feature is about, I came to do some research. First wondering where this pseudonym comes from and what it can be about.
I eventually thought it could be a variant spelling of “Palomino” which is “a coat color in horses, consisting of a gold coat and white mane and tail” (Wikipedia).
Diggin’ deeper, I found “Palamino” as standing for “an old rich white male or female who knows everything about nothing and complains about anything possible” (Urban Dictionary). I then came to understand “Palamino” is also the name of a cocktail. The latter consisting of 1 tsp Green Chartreuse®, 1 oz creme de cassis, 1 tsp Frangelico® hazelnut liqueur and 1 1/2 oz whiskey. But if one thing is for sure at the end, it’s the fact that Palamino is the name of Danish producers Morten Trøst Steffensen and Morten Hampenberg’s new brainchild.
Trust obviously likes collaborations. Also responsible for the transient Funworks that saw him sharing the duties with Lars Peter Støvring back in 2009. Not to mention Soulmagic along with Mikkel Wendelhoe who joined him back in 2012.
A Techno, House and Dance Music DJ/producer, Morten Trust has been around for more than 10 years. Enjoying the support of his pairs such as Roger S, Brian Tappert, Grant Nelson and Copyright to name a few.
