Shaggy – Boombastic (Virgin)

Shaggy is another quite versatile temper, making his reputation while blending elements of Reggae and Hip-Hop into his reportoire into what’s renowed as Ragga. He first came to recgnition back in 1993 with a Dancehall re-make of Ska hit ‘Oh Carolina’ by the likes of the Folkes Brothers prior to collaborate with Kenny Dope on his ‘Unreleased project’ Hip-Hop album.
One of his biggest successes ever being the 1995 released highly remembered ‘Boombastic’, eventually used soon after on a Levi’s TV ad as included in the OST of a couple of films, using samples of both Marvin Gaye‘s ‘Let’s Get It On’ and King Floyd‘s ‘Baby Let Me Kiss You’, with co-production work courtesy of Sting International
