First Listen! Siren – Paradise (Siren Remix) (Compost Records)
The allusion to the defunct Paradise Garage makes no doubt as to what seems like a projection. A projection that brings us into what could be the atmosphere nowadays in this place which started it all in terms of clubbing!
Desrani and Kane invite us therefore to an endless return to the future. A flashback that sounds like an unlikely meeting between Kerri Chandler and Kraftwerk. But also USG (Ron Trent and Anthony Nicholson) and Miss Honey Dijon.
‘Paradise’ stands out as a fascinating patchwork of deep and dark vibes which runs along a thumping rhythm pattern. It also brings us back to what Giorgio Moroder was at back in 1977 on ‘From Here To Eternity’.
So many images that come to mind, don’t you think?

– Siren is the new project from Darshan Jesrani (Metro Area) and Dennis Kane (Ghost Town).
Siren began recording in earnest during the winter of 2013. Their beginnings date further back though. From their mutual residencies at NYC’s APT and the parties they produced together in APT’s wake. Events with names like Camille 3000, Adult Section and Strobe Lodge were lovingly presented, with bold and romantic graphics. Not to mention a strong and specific statement that refinement and transgression can and should always hang together…
– Darshan Jesrani grew up in Poughkeepsie, NY, population 43,000. In this sleepy town, he started out breakdancing and (legend has it) hacking with an underground network of computer nerds. Next came music. As he said during the 2003 Red Bull Music Academy, he first explored Techno frontiers. Then he soon after started diggin’ up records that Shep Pettibone had dropped on Kiss FM back in the day. Via the net, he crossed paths with Morgan Geist. Together and they would establish a unique sound that put the name Metro Area firmly on the map. (source: Redbullmusicacademy.com) And the rest is almost history!
