Stanley Turrentine – Spaced (Fantasy Records)

Like most of his pairs in the 70’s, Stanley Turrentine would turn to Jazz/Fusion territories, working along luminaries such as Freddie Hubbard, Idris Muhammad, George Benson and Grant Green to name but a few.
Taken from the 1975 released ‘In The Pocket’ album (his second for Fantasy Records), this jam sounds like an travelling in the streets of San Francisco which would have served as the theme of some TV series or a thriller, with the man at the peak of his art along with an orchestra masterfully arranged and conducted by Gene Page.
Just can’t get enough of this…
