By the likes of famous California-based Pop Jazz/Rock band Toto, from their self-titled debut album in 1978. One of their biggest classics ever with ‘Africa’ and ‘Rosanna’. Although Cheryl Lynn provided the backing vocals, singing an adaptation to… ‘Georgie Porgie’, a popular English nursery rhyme published in the first half of the XIX Century, she never got officially credited for that, apart from a quick mention on the label of the commercial 12″ release…

Charme happened to be A one off recording project put together by Israel-born California-based composer, songwriter, pianist and producer Misha Segal. Taken from their 1979 released ‘Let It In’ album, featuring artists such as Damaris, Gwen Guthrie and Ullanda McCullough, their rendition of ‘Georgy Porgy’ owed much to the instantly identifiable performance by the likes of Luther Vandross, although he, neither, didn’t get credited for that at the time. This injustice would be repaired though with its re-release a few years later after Vandross‘s rise in popularity…
