Touchdown – Ritmo Suave (Streetwise)

Britain has made itself a reputation of top quality groove manufacturing for 5 decades, from Northern Soul to Rare Groove, Disco, Funk, R&B, Soul, Jazz, House, not to mention Drum & Bass.
Released back in 1981 on Jeff Weston‘s Record Shark Records, the original version of this Jazz/Funk killer jam – ‘Ease Your Mind’ – given a cover version some 20 years after by Los Amigos Invisibles on MAW Records, would be rereleased the year after on US label Streetwise, receiving a remix treatment by the likes of Arthur Baker and Cosmo Wyatt. But also be dubbed with a Spanish version – ‘Ritmo Suave’, with lyrics written by Joe Bataan.
This would be so to say the only feat of arms to be credited to the transient Touchdown, a fortet comprizing Alan Braithwithe, Dominic Borg, Peter Harmsworth and Steve Vincent later made famous under his Stevie V guise with ‘Dirty Cash (Money Talks)’…
