Angie Stone – Wish I Didn't Miss You (Blaze Remix) (White Label)

Already around back at the end of the seventies as a member of the Sugarhill Records signed group The Sequence alongside Cheryl The Pearl and Gwendolyn Chisolm (remember ‘Funk You Up’?) prior working with Mantronix then Vertical Hold in the nineties, Angie Stone started her solo career back in 1999 with the ‘Black Diamond’ album, eventually becoming an ambassador of the Neo-Soul sound. One of her most significant and vibrant song would follow 2 years later (on her ‘Mahogany Soul’ album), built on a sample of The O’Jays’ classic ‘Backstabbers’. I gotta say though I never understood why, despite havin’ received so many official remixes as a part of its promotion, the one by Blaze remained left aside, eventually released as a limited white label edition…
