Brownstone – If You Love Me (LP Version)

Classics: Brownstone – If You Love Me (MJJ Music)

What makes music so special is pretty much the variety of beautiful sensations it generates. With Brownstone‘s ‘If You Love Me’ most definitely makin’ no exception. I mean, a piece of music is just like a landscape at the end. And, from the very first notes of ‘If You Love Me’, you just feel under the charm of its harmonies. The whole in a smooth swingin’ mood with production work courtesy of Dave ‘Jam’ Hall. The latter comin’ up with a sample from US Rapper K-Solo‘s ‘Spellbound’…

Their biggest success ever, ‘If You Love Me’ is one of the highlights from their debut-album – ‘From The Bottom Up’ – back in 1994. This along with other gems such as ‘Pass The Lovin’ and ‘Grapevyne’. Besides, it eventually got them nominated for a Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance in 1996, although it lost to ‘Creep’ by TLC.

Anyway, not so bad at the end for the very first act signed on the then newly launched Michael Jackson‘s MJJ Music label…
