Calloway – I Wanna Be Rich (SOLAR)

Hailing from Cincinatti, OH, trumpeter Reggie Calloway contributed significantly to the establishment of Dick Griffey’s SOLAR label as a major force in the R&B circuit from the mid 70’s to the beginning of the nineties. Along with his brother Vincent and fellow students at the Kentucky University he would put together Midnight Star, prior working with luminaries such as Teddy Pendergrass, producing ‘Joy’ for him, but also Gladys Knight (‘Love Overboard’), The Whispers (‘Contagious’) and Levert (‘Casanova’) among others. He along with Vincent would also give birth to Calloway, scoring their biggest classic by the likes of ‘I Wanna Be Rich’, taken from their 1990 released debut album ‘All The Way’, delivered with remixing work courtesy of Timmy Regisford
