Carol Douglas – Doctor's Orders (Midland International Records)

Remembered for her 1981 released cover version of the Three Degrees‘s ‘My Simple Heart’, Carole Douglas‘s biggest success would be the early Disco classic ‘Doctor’s Orders’released back in 1974… Despite an obvious talent, her carrer happened to be quite sporadic, most likely because of problems within her environment and probably not being at the right place at the right time. Beginning with the production of this gem which although officially credited to Midland International Records label VP Eddie O’Loughlin, happened to be the work of Meco Monardo who was also responsible for Gloria Gaynor’s ‘Never Can Say Goodbye’ and a Dosco version of the ‘Star Wars Theme’.
Decided to capitalize on a signature sound, Douglas wanted to keep on that direction, but unfortunately never got the support of her label back then…
