Chris Rea – Josephine (Magnet Records)

Instantly recognizable with his gravelly voice and his typical guitar playing, Chris Rea‘s style got fastly admitted as unique. He would reach his peak in terms of notoriety in the mid-80’s with albums such as ‘On The Beach’ as led by his classic of the likes back in 1987 and ‘Shamrock Diaries’, 2 years earlier. Taken from the latter, and written by his daughter of the same name, ‘Josephine’ literally crossed the boundaries along with time, reaching fans of different genres.
French combo Superfunk along with Chicago singer Ron Carroll cleverly sampled it in 1999, scoring their biggest success ever with the memorable ‘Lucky Star’…
