D-Influence – No Illusions (Blue Soul Mix) (EastWest)

Soul II Soul, Young Disciples, Brand New Heavies, The Chimes… As many groups and artists who embodied a new approach of Soul Music in the UK back at the beginning of the nineties, eventually giving birth to the so called Brit-Soul. Kwame Kwaten, Ed Baden-Powell and Steve Martson adding their names to the list as D-Influence along with a singer, Sarah Ann Webb who stands as one of the most vibrant voices ever hailing from the country.
Demonstration on this cut displaying in the meantime the incredible musicianship of this combo, taken from their debut-album – ‘Good 4 We’ – released back in 1992, featuring smoothies such as its title cut, ‘Good Lover’ and the aforementioned which would receive a boiling remix treatment by the likes of Mark Kinchen
