Tennerz: Mark Di Meo feat. Jocelyn Mathieu – 10k High (Richard Earnshaw Classic Vocal Mix) (Soulstice Records)
Familiar with these shores? Chances are great you would have noticed as to how the protagonists of ’10k High’ are regulars too. It is to say how their reunion has everything of a promise. And the fact is we find ourselves in that classic sparkling and phonky environment which is nothing but Richard Earnshaw‘s signature. With French singer Jocelyn Mathieu once again delicately doin’ his thing along with Mark Di Meo‘s classy harmonies.
’10k High’ is just how we feel when listening to this timeless (groovy) bass-driven bliss…

– A native of Termoli, Mark Di Meo carries on the tradition of know how one may find in the Italian production. This with artists such as Mimmo Falcone, Souldynamic and Michele Chiavarini. But also M. Caporale or Peppe Citarella among others.
The move he decided to do while relocating in Los Angeles, CA was expectedly quite a challenge. But it most likely broadened his horizon in the meantime, as he explained in an interview on houseoffrankie. Meanwhile getting him to spin with luminaries such as Louie Vega, Joe Claussell, Kenny Dope and Terry Hunter. But also droppin’ his releases on labels like Quantize Recordings and King Street/Nite Grooves. Not to mention Reel People Music and Solid Ground in Britain. This in addition to his activities as the CEO of Soulstice Music.
As a result, no wonder as to how his name should be familiar to those of you regular of these shores. If not of our Facebook page where we heavily championed ‘Let It Be Love’. His debut release on Quantize Recordings back in 2012 along with South African singer Nickson and N’Dinga Gaba in charge of the remix duties. Then how to not think of the mesmerizing ‘Be Mine’ featuring Sofia Rubina with remixing work courtesy of Terry Hunter the year after on Solid Ground?
Showcasing his inclination for Jazz vibes, Di Meo would most definitely blow our ears once again in 2014. This with the post-Summerish ‘A Gentleman’s Song’ featuring James Vargas on sax and Appolo Negri on Hammond B3.
Unsurprisingly, he would deliver 5 star remixes whenever commissioned to do so. Beginning with the hypnotic ‘Beautiful Life’ for Diephuis featuring Stephanie Cooke. But also ‘I Thank You’ for the latter this time as a solo artist. Not to mention ‘Colours’ for The Doggett Brothers featuring Laura Jackson to name a few. A cut we eventually included in our 10 essential 2016 tracks in the series. Meanwhile 2016 also saw this release of his ‘Soulful House Journey’ mix on King Street.
We catch him busy workin’ on his Soulstice Music label in 2018. This with a brilliant remix of M. Caporale featuring Tai Malone‘s ‘Red Light’. Then a rework of The L.O.V.E. Project featuring Shean Williams‘ ‘I’m In Love’. Not to mention the classy ’10k High’ featuring Jocelyn Mathieu, as remixed by Richard Earnshaw.
– Hailing from Paris singer/songwriter Jocelyn Mathieu stands in the vein of that handful of France-based singers who’ve generated respect abroad. A list where are to be found Ladybird, Mani Hoffman and Chris Wonder for instance. The list of the producers he’s been working with speakin’ for itself. From Alex Finkin and Reverend P on the memorable ‘Those Days Are Gone’ which Louie Vega licensed on his Vega Records label back in 2009. To Ralf GUM, Silvia Zaragoza and UPZ. But also DJ Pope (‘Ma Ma Warn Me’) and Souldynamic (‘Fine Wine’). Not to mention Deep Roger (‘Never Gonna Be The Same’)…
Meanwhile, his latest delivery – ’10k High’ – seeing him sharing the bill with another Italian producer. This by the likes of Mark Di Meo with remixing work courtesy of Richard Earnshaw.
