Tennerz: Doug Gomez – Meta Morpho Sis (Merecumbe Soul Mix) (Merecumbe Recordings)
‘Meta Morpho Sis’ most likely stands as to what Doug Gomez has been goin’ thru. Leavin’ his native NYC to set himself up in Costa Rica. And also launchin’ his own Merecumbe Recordings label among other things such as developping his remixing activities.
‘Meta Morpho Sis’ pretty much sounds like a manifestation of hedonism. An ode to beauty… The one of the local landscapes, such as the ‘Cafe Del Mar’ compilations celebrating the beauty of the sunsets in Ibiza.
With an absolute delicacy, Gomez delivers an invitation to the transport of the hearts and souls. Everything here is deep and vibrant. From the African-influenced percussive rhythm pattern to its progression. Blending like infinite stellar keys coming up as as many waves over a rumblin’ bassline. Before the arrival of a jazzy piano part takin’ the centerstage to bring us to chillier territories.
All you got to do is get yourself a moment, give it a listen, let yourself go, then let us know what you think. Therefore, hard not to see a connection with both Ron Trent and Joe Claussell, huh?
