Dwele – Find A Way (Virgin)

On a Neo-Soul mood (but also a Valentine’s Day one by the way), the lead single of Dwele‘s 2003 released ‘Subject’ album, and most likely his signature cut, with production work by the likes of George Archie aka G-One (Tony! Toni! Toné, R Kelly, Ginwine). But also a blatant sign of the existence of a community that would experience the various forms of the groove from Hip-Hop (J Dilla, Slum Village) to Jazz (Carl Craig, Detroit Experiment) to Disco and Funk (Theo Parrish, Moodymann) and Neo-Soul (Amp Fiddler, Dwele), in a city – Detroit – which, despite havin’ given birth to Techno more than 25 years ago, happened to be the hometown of Berry Gordy‘s Motown label in the 60’s/70’s…
