France Joli – Gonna Get Over You (Prelude Records)

Revealed back in 1979 with ‘Come To Me’, taken from her self-titled debut album with production work by the likes of Antonio DiVerdis-Mazzone, better known as Tony Green (one of the most prolific Disco producers from Canada), France Joli was to reach another peak three years later. This time, she would be surrounded by production pair William Anderson and the late Raymond Reid (respectively the guitarist and the trombone player of Crown Heights Affair) who provided Prelude Records with a string of vaults, beginning with Empress. The appeal of this beautifully produced phonky jam happened to be such that Joli recorded soon after a version of the likes titled ‘Te Olvidare’…
