Frank Hooker & Positive People – Rock Me

This Beat Is Mine! (*) Frank Hooker & Positive People – Rock Me (Panorama)

Let me first thank you, not only for this outstanding data base you’ve created. But also for this space you leave for us to express ourselves on your site…
An avid record collector myself, I recently had a listen to a tape which my dad had recorded back at the end of the 70’s. And, to be honest, I couldn’t believe the amount of incredible tunes I found there.
To be more precise, this came ‘Discovatin’. A show I understand Al Matthews used to present back then on Radio 1. And from this, I stumbled upon this infectious ‘Rock Me’ thing. A synth led jazzy funk jam over a bumpin’ bassline by the likes of Frankie Hooker & Positive People. And although it doesn’t look like it has done a lot referring to another of his (‘This Feeling’), it still sounds so hot at the end. And pretty much still ‘Rock Me’ more than 35 years after its release.

What’s the value of your vinyl record?
