Gerald Alston – Activated (Motown)

The lead singer of The Manhattans, responsible for gems such as ‘Kiss And Say Goodbye’, ‘There’s No Me Without You’ and ‘Shining Star’, Gerald Alston took a break from the group to focus on his solo career from 1988 until 1995 which, unfortunately didn’t happen the way he would have like it.
‘Activated’, taken from his 1988 released self-titled debut album, sort of illustrating the poor feedback he got as a solo artist, despite a real potential on a boiling hot groove, with only Motown UK releasing a promo 12″ of it, with additional remixes courtesy of Timmy Regisford
