Gloria Gaynor – Never Can Say Goodbye (MGM)

Classics: Gloria Gaynor – Never Can Say Goodbye (MGM)

‘Never Can Say Goodbye…’ No matter when, chances are great you might have heard this classic one day of another. Be this by the likes of The Jackson 5 in 1971. Or courtesy of British band The Communards sixteen years later. Unless by Gloria Gaynor back by the end of 1974. Meanwhile makin’ of her one of the first performers embracing Disco at the time.

With production work courtesy of Meco Menardo (also remembered as Meco), ‘Never Can Say Goodbye’ is one of Gaynor’s signature cuts at the end. This with ‘Honey Bee’. But also her cover version of the Holland/Dozier/Holland written ‘Reach Out I’ll Be There’, both from the same package. Not to mention ‘I Will Survive’ which followed three years later.

With ‘Never Can Say Goodbye’ delivered with mixing work courtesy of Tom Moulton, it’s better having the album version which is featured as full length as opposed to the 7 inch…

What’s the value of my vinyl record? (album)
