John Beltran – 10 Days Of Blue

Classics: John Beltran – 10 Days Of Blue (Peacefrog)

’10 Days Of Blue’… The first word comin’ to mind when thinking of this man is… soundtrack. Gifted with the art of turning everything he touches into beautiful ambiances and exquisite harmonies. And this, apparently with no limit. Meanwhile able to embrace Jazz, Latin, World Music, Ambient, Techno and House vibes.

10 Days Of Blue stands like a fascinating dive into what feels like a deepness with no limit. The whole in a sparkling synthetized environment over a sharp bass-driven drumbeat. Somehow reminding of certain experimentations by the like of Larry Heard as a matter of fact. And ‘Microgravity’ to be more precise…

Speakin’ of his relation with art(s), Andy Warhol had the following words back in 1963… “The reason I’m painting this way is that I want to be a machine. And I feel that whatever I do and do machine-like is what I want to do.” As many words that feel like John Beltran made his on this outstanding composition at the crossroads between Nu Jazz and Deep Techo with an Ambient Trance edge…

Remembered for his early works alongside Carl Craig, he left his unique imprint on label such as R&S, Ubiquity, Delsin. Not to mention Peacefrog with his 1996 released album of the name, and its title track (’10 Days Of Blue’) seen as one of the most sought after Techno classics…
