Just Dance: Melba, we want Moore!

Melba MooreWe’ll never miss an opportunity to point our finger on the bad effects which the digitalization process has had on the music sale and, as a direct result, on the artists and the music industry. But hopefully, it has also in the mean time allowed connections which, not so long ago, would have been harder if not impossible to establish. This is exactly where is to be found Disco diva Melba Moore – remembered for classics such as ‘You Stepped Into My Life’ and the Kashif produced ‘Love’s Comin’ At Ya’ – with her last single to date – ‘Just Dance’ – taken from her upcoming album, ‘Forever Melba’ set for release in 2015…
A single released back in September, penned by Dominic McFadden, the message of which (“if we just Dance, the world would live in harmony”) allowing it to get a pretty good reception with a presence at #11 position on UK’s Soul Sweet Rhythm chart, and therefore DJ’s to be requesting for remixes, be they for their owns shows as for the dancefloors. DSG music label head and promoter Gary Van den Bussche instantly jumped on the wagon, contacting Moore‘s management with the idea, in which they agreed, with the rest on its way to become history.
UK-based Grant Sullivan and Colin Watson which VdB had already commissioned to do remixes for SouLutions and more recently Neo, are on the run again, joined by Indamixworldwide/Facebook Greek selector Leonidas DJ with a boiling hot Alien Disco Sugar Remix of the likes. A definitely worth a listen pack, currently causing a neat regain of interest in Melba‘s back catalogue and aptly to bring her to the attention of younger generations, just the way Defected Records did 2 years ago with Candi Staton

Melba Moore – Just Dance (The Remixes) (TopNotch Music) available on Dec. 16, 2014 through iTunes
