Lalo Schifrin – Mission: Impossible (Dot Records)

Classics: Lalo Schifrin – Mission: Impossible (Dot Records)

The Theme from ‘Bullitt’ (Steve McQueen)… But also the one from ‘Dirty Harry’ (with Clint Eastwood). Not to mention ‘Mannix’ (starring Mike Connors)… As many films/series remaining in the collective memory along with their soundtracks created by Lalo Schifrin. With the most famous of them being probably the theme from ‘Mission: Impossible’ at the end. A TV series created by Bruce Geller which got aired on the CBS network from Sept. 1966 to March 1973. This before inspiring a series of action spy films produced by and starring Tom Cruise more than 20 years after. With the latest in the series – ‘Rogue Nation’ – due to hit the theaters on Jul. 31, 2015…

How lucky we are at the end. This with this Youtube video showcasing not only the central theme of ‘Mission: Impossible’. But also its various title sequences.
All in all brilliantly showin’ us as to how a composer can come to the essential of a theme in less than two minutes!

What’s the value of your vinyl record?
