Lenny Kravitz – I Belong To You

Classics: Lenny Kravitz – I Belong To You (Virgin)

“I belong to you, and you belong to me…” A message which Lenny Kravitz could pretty well have addressed to music as a matter of fact. Although clearly a ‘Rocker’ who got influences from the late Jimi Hendrix as a guitarist, the man has embraced almost everything in his repertoire. From Blues to Hard Rock, Reggae, R&B and Funk. This makin’ of him one of the most versatile artists of his generation along with Prince. Although comin’ from different horizons. Meanwhile, as a performer, he sort of appeared as Stevie Wonder, able to play as many different instruments. Thus dealing with bass, drums, keyboards and percussion.

We catch him here back in 1998 on the third single from his ‘5’ album. In other words, ‘I Belong To You’ which one could describe as a sort of R&B/Rock transgender. Doin’ almost everything to the exception of the toy piano, left c/o Terry Manning

To be honest, I was kinda surprised seeing Wikipedia describing ‘I Belong To You’ as featuring a soft-rock and reggae inspired sound. Unless I’ve forgotten or never came to know what Reggae is about. You let me know at the end…

What’s the value of your vinyl record?
