Marshall Jefferson presents Truth – Open Our Eyes

Classics: Marshall Jefferson presents Truth – Open Our Eyes (Celestial Mix) (Big Beat)

“In the beginning, there was Paradise…” Both the depth and the form would tend to link us to the Garden Of Eden. Rather than say The Paradise Garage. Even though many of those of us who happened to go to The PG pretty much saw it as the Garden Of Eden as a matter of fact. Meanwhile, in order to reach the light / the Graal, we would just have to open our eyes and ears. And probably our minds as well for some.
Now, considering the whole as it appears, don’t ever wonder how House Music went to be seen by many as a spiritual thing…

Open our eyes… That’s most definitely what Marshall Jefferson applied to himself. Simple curiosity bringing him to buy a keyboard then eventually to become one of the most talented producers in the history of Chicago House Music. And more precisely precisely Deep House. Thus working along with artists such as Ten City, Ce Ce Rogers, and Kym Mazelle. Not to mention Virgo and Jungle Wonz to name but a few…

‘Open Our Eyes’, released under the Truth guise (Byron Stingily, Byron Burke and himself) back in 1988, stands among his definitive masterpieces. Featuring this Celestial Mix courtesy of Mike Dunn, Nelson “Paradise” Roman and Big Beat label head Craig Kallman which pretty much brought it to the next level.

Open our eyes, raise our hands… Not that far from stronger together at the end…
