Miles Davis – Something On Your Mind (Columbia)

Very few are the musicians with an influence and a charisma comparable to the ones of the late Miles Davis. A man who embodied the idea of freedom per definition, bringin’ it to his playground – Jazz Music – and eventually givin’ it various forms, from Bebop, Hard Bop, and Cool Jazz to Fusion…
We catch him here on a funky cover version of this jam co-written by Hubert Eaves III and James D-Train Williams of the D-Train fame, with production work by the likes of Robert Irving III, as the opener to his 1985 released ‘You’re Under Arrest’ album. A cut which, surprisingly, never managed to get a single release, despite its obvious potential…
