Misty Oldland – Got Me A Feeling

This Beat Is Mine! (*) Misty Oldland – Got Me A Feeling (Boogie Back Records)

Born in the nineties, I’ve got into this rare groove, Acid Jazz, Brit-Soul period from my dad. He, himself, was a die hard fan of this boiling scene hailing from London, and would also attend many concerts at the Mojo back in the day. With the funny thing being that we also had a few artists/groups in this vein here in Germany.

This has most likely got me into Soul/Jazz and these live performances where you can see musicians and singers jamming altogether with an obvious pleasure… I came to discover this exciting indie label from England. I mean Boogie Back Records, and OMG, what a musicianship they managed to develop! This is how I jumped onto this smoothie by the likes of Mistly Oldland and eventually recognized Omar‘s voice in the backing.

This definitely Got Me A Feeling…

This Beat Is MineThis Beat Is Mine! (*) Once in a week (on Wednesdays), IDMW is left with you at the command!
For this to happen, nothing’s more easy… What you’ve just got to do is drop us a line while using our contact form and let us know about your favorite piece of music (*), along with a review explaining what it suggests you and why people should dig it. And the best of it will be given a publication with your credit the week after.

With warm thanks to Hamburg-based correspondent, Liselotte Van Der Meyr, for this week’s suggestion…

Gladly welcoming yours to be published next Wednesday. On your marks!
