Hailing from Agboville, Ivory Coast, Raoul Konan aka Mr Raoul K found a new home in Germany by the beginning of the 90’s. From then, he so to say learnt how to create music, one step after another. The way he got into his daily profession. Working as a carpenter which eventually allowed him to buy his studio equipment. Something one could eventually feel in the way he builds his compositions, in a fascinating progressive way. With ‘Sene Kela’ makin’ no exception…

One of the highlights from his 2014 ‘Still Living In Slavery’ album – a title that speaks for itself – ‘Sene Kela’ stands out by his magnetic appeal. No need to understand the lyrics, although I confess it would be an undeniable plus, to feel like in front of an incantation from the innerside. A feeling which, no surprisingly, Ron Trent perfectly recaptured. Meanwhile enhancing it to the next level with the introduction of elements of his own signature. Turning the whole into a fascinating adventure. This with the addition of extra space. The whole sounding like as many ponctuation marks expanding the emphasis of the African chants responding to kalimba led parts…
