“Montre-moi si tu m’aimes (Show Me If You Love Me)”. How could we ever resist in front of this vibrant invitation as led by DR Congo-born Cacharel Jiaoo Pindi singing his heart out while blending French, English and African lyrics??? South African producer Nastee Nev enhancing the emotional content of the vocal parts in a deep surrounding with lush keys.
Is this Afro House? Is this World Music??? One thing for sure, these vibes are outstanding…

Pretoria native DJ/producer Nastee Nev showed interest in music at an early age. Discovering the likes of Bob Marley, Nina Simone and Gladys Knight by the age of 10 from his father’s record collection. Meanwhile, old time friend Wesi Lefyedi introduced him to House Music back in 1989.
Nev started his career as a DJ playing tapes in small parties and street bashes when he met Positive K. One of the most respected DJ’s in South Africa, the latter introduced him to vinyls. Nev getting his break 6 years later while playing along with K. Most likely warming up the stage with slow jams and Hip-Hop at a pub – the Archie Bold – in the township of Ga-Ranuwa.
He later on landed a residency spot at the club Gemini. There, he shared the centerstage with Christos, Vinny da Vinci, Bob Mabena and Positive K. Travelling around the country to playing in clubs and pubs from then.
In 2001, he registered his company, Nastee Nev Entertainment, before launching his studio where he started producing his own music. His first release – ‘Private Lessons’ – saw the light with 2 remixes courtesy of Abicah Soul and Demarkus Lewis.
Admitting an inclination for Jazz vibes, one eventually found Nev‘s music too deep at a time when commercial House Music was the thing in SA. But hopefully times have changed with the man finding greater following from a release to another. Dropping his debut-album – ‘0808 Sweet Soul’ – back in 2013 on House Afrika Records. The man sitting on an impressive collection of goodies where deepness, delicacy, softness and vibrancy stand as the key words. From ‘Reach’ with Kafele Bandele to ‘I’m So Hung Up On Up’ featuring Donald Sheffey. Not to mention ‘One With The Dance’ along with Robert Owens. And, more recently, ‘Show Me’ with Cacharel.
