Ne-Yo hitting 2015 with a new album

© Frank Micelotta
Initially thought for release last Spring then in November, Ne-Yo‘s 6th album – ‘Non Fiction’ is finally set to see the light on Jan. 27, 2015. The reasons obviously being his recent collaboration with Celine Dion and commitment as some unofficial spokesman for Rihanna‘s 8th album. Not to mention his recent association with Pitbull on the trendy ‘Time Of Our Lives’. As many things wich, as a matter of fact, may pretty well have overshadowed both the Jeezy-assisted single ‘Money Can’t Buy’ then its follow-up, the dancefloor oriented ‘She Knows’ featuring Juicy J taken from his upcoming effort. As many things which may have confused his fan base and therefore explain Ne-Yo‘s decision to postpone its release to an ulterior date…
Another pretty good illustration of an already long time running period that would see a growing majority of music lovers most likely stuck on a specific genre and therefore hardly venturing themselves into diversity, beginning from the mid-80’s. The reason why the one, remembered for havin’ penned Mario‘s 2004 classic ‘Let Me Love You’, has claimed in various interviews he would be coming back to a more traditional R&B sound, in the vein of his first two albums…
“I had a little stint with the Dance Music and all of that, which I had a good time with- and I love the audience, I love them for accepting me doing it – but I had to go home on this one.” Ne-Yo said to Billboard back in February this year. “I Had to take it back to my roots, and not to say that there won’t be one, maybe two songs on there that the Dance crowd can get into, but the majority, the girth of the album, will be R&B!”, revealing that it will also feature ScHoolboy Q on the Salaam Remi-produced ‘Run.’
