Paul Hardcastle – Rain Forest (Blue Bird)

A composer and a synth player who also can play other instruments, Paul Hardcastle went to fame in the 80’s, blending Jazz and Funk vibes with a so to say eletronic perspective. Remembered for his first contributions as a member of First Light and Direct Drive, he came to higher recognition as a solo artist though, achieving critical acclaim for his 1985 released ’19’, a cut about the effect the Vietnam war has on the US soldiers who served, eventually given German and French spoken versions (‘Neunzehn’, ‘Dix-neuf’) which would be his biggest success ever. ‘Sound Chaser’ along with ‘Rain Forest’ (released the year before) standing among his other signature jams with the latter givin’ an impression of an imaginary soundtrack on a smooth electro-Jazz/Funk mood…
