Pet Shop Boys – West End Girls (Parlophone)

By the time they started (back in 1984), nobody could predict Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe would become the most successfull Pop duo in the British chart history. Mind you, the synth led ‘West End Girls’, which marked their debut with production work courtesy of Bobby Orlando, just managed to receive an average response, originally released on Epic. It would be though when re-recorded the year after with Stephen Hague in charge of the production that it would become a huge hit by the beginning of 1986, opening a wide series of successes for the twosome, eventually reknown themselves for their collabs with Liza Minelli and the late Dusty Springfield among others…
