René & Angela – Save Your Love (For #1)

One of the leading duos in the first half of the 80’s along with Ashford & Simpson, California-based René (Moore) and Angela (Winbush) left a consistant imprint on the R&B/Funk circuit with classics such as the sought after ‘I Love You More’, ‘I’ll Be Good’, Your Smile and ‘You Don’t Have To Cry’.
Taken from the 1985 released ‘A Street Called Desire’ which would mark their debut on Mercury, but also end up being their very last one together, the Electro-synth led ‘Save Your Love’ is arugably their biggest classic ever, featuring rapper Kurtis Blow, with production work by the likes of Bruce Swedien and Bobby Watson.
With the twosome parting way, Moore went on to compose and produce hits most notably for Michael Jackson, nominated for two Grammys: one for Song of the Year, Michael Jackson‘s New Jack Swing-hit ‘Jam’ and a second for Producer of the Album of the Year (Michael Jackson‘s ‘HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I’).
