Robin Thicke – Blurred Lines (Star Trak Entertainment/Interscope)

Reknown for his collabs with artists such as Mary J Blige, Usher and Jennifer Hudson, to name but a few, Robin Thicke rose to worldwide stardom soon after the release of ‘Blurred Lines’ taken from the album of the likes, featuring Pharrell Williams and T.I..
The song ended up breaking the record for radio audience previously held by Mariah Carey‘s “We Belong Together” in 2005 and got nominated for two Grammys at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards, including Record of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
Built on a rhythm pattern somehow reminding of Marvin Gaye‘s ‘Got To Give It Up’ it would be the subject of a long legal action for copyright infringement with the family of the late singer, but also of heavy critics, suggesting that the song and its video clip were trivializing sexual consent…
