RSL – The Mast (Love Will Be Strong) (Players)

Like it or not, there’s nothing like live performers jammin’ together whenever they come to redefine their common language – music – and put it to the next level. This is therefore what has made Britain so unique along with time, with bands such as Incognito, Brand New Heavies, Down To The Bone, James Taylor Quartet or The Haggis Horns to name but a few. And this is exactly what to be found speaking of RSL, a collective of musicians and singers put together 10 years ago by Martin Almond (Keuboards), Joe Botham (guitar) and Chas Morrison (drums).
Some of you might remember them for ‘Wesley Music’ which US label Giant Step put out back then with a Reedit by the likes of Danny Krivit, but their absolute peak would come under the form of this horn-led Latin Jazz/Funk killer jam featuring the sultry Julie E Gordon on vocals, taken from their 2005 released ‘Every Preston Guild’ album, somehow reminded of Brazilian famous band Azymuth
A timeless piece of (he)art!
