Souldynamic – Equatoriale (Tribe Records)

First Listen: Souldynamic – Equatoriale (Tribe Records)

Responsible for what happened to be our Single Of The Week last Dec. 12 with ‘I Can’ featuring Robert C Walker, Italian production pair Souldynamic pops in right on time for the WMC. This with the instant ‘Equatoriale’. And what a gem this is!

‘Equatoriale’ is just the kind of groovy blend built around an insane dubby guitar part and catchy synth lines that looks set to dynamite the floors under the Miami sun. And most definitely further. Something you can tell when in front of what looks like a potential anthem. Remember Kerri Chandler‘s ‘Bar A Thym’!

Album in the pipeline. Will keep you posted!

Overview
– Italian twosome Luca Ciotoli and Stefano De Magistris officially gave birth to Souldynamic in the second half of the 2000’s. They eventually made their debut at the beginning of 2007 with ‘The Past As The Future’. A cut which they dropped right on time for the Miami WMC, on Bobby & Steve‘s Zoo Groove Stereo Recordings. Since then, they had many releases. Licensing their music/remixes on some of the most acclaimed record labels. From King Street Sounds to Tony Records, Soulfuric and Code Red to name a few. Working with some of the most in-demand singers such as Ann Nesby, Robert Owens and Dawn Tallman. But also Ultra Naté, Darryl D’Bonneau and Pete Simpson among others. Meanwhile, kinda hard to not mention as well their stellar remix of Dennis Ferrer‘s classic ‘Church Lady’.

They stand on a consistent amount of gems where quality and delicacy prevail. From ‘Make A Choice’ featuring Roland Clark back in 2008 to ’99&half’ along with Susu Bobien in July 2009. But also ‘Summershine’ featuring Leslie Carter which they released that same week on Code Red.

”Revival’ featuring Adeola Shyllon which saw the light on Purple Music most likely completes the list. Eventually receiving a heavy support from some of the key DJ’s/producers in the world, beginning with Tony Humphries. The latter releasing ‘Love’ featuring Angela Johnson on his Tony Records label. A cut which received remixing work courtesy of Terry Hunter and N’Dinga Gabba. Meanwhile we could also add the jazzy Calypsoid ‘Equatoriale’ back in 2015 on Tribe Records. Not to mention ‘I Can’ featuring C. Robert Walker which we welcomed as a Single Of The Week by the end of 2014. Then, last but not least ‘Fine Wine’ along with French singer Jocelyn Mathieu in July 2017.
