Away from the pressure of the city, the trends and the spotlights, Andy Compton has spent the last 20 years crafting a unique sound. Itself blending elements of Jazz, Soul and African Music (more recently). Eventually giving birth to the unsurprisingly named The Rurals guise which he keeps on using at times.
From their 2001 ‘Reinterpretations’ album, the aptly titled ‘Lush’ stands among our all time favs. And more precisely its remix courtesy of 95 North featuring Kwame Jawanzaa on keys and Erik Desiderio on bass.

Somehow reminding of the late Vincent Montana, Jr.‘s compositions with a Third Millennium twist…
‘Lush’ is just what it says…
