Tina Turner – Private Dancer (Capitol)

Nutbush, TN-born Tina Turner first came to fame in the 60’s with her former husband, Ike Turner, whom she ended up speparating afer years of abuse. From their artistical union, the classics ‘River Deep, Mountain I’, the explosive ‘Nutbush City Limits’ and their memorable cover version of Creedence Clearwater Revival‘s classic ‘Proud Mary’.
She would relaunch her career in the 80’s and most likely with the 1984 released ‘Private Dancer’ spawning classics such as ‘Let’s Stay Together’, a cover version of ‘I Can’t Stand The Rain’, ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’ in addition to its title track, written by Mark Knopfler of the Dire Straits fame, featuring Jeff Beck on guitar and Mel Collins on sax.
